Head of Communities & Engagement, Springer Nature

I gained my first degree in virology from the University of Warwick and a PhD in influenza virus immune evasion from Public Health England and the University of Reading, UK. My research interests then moved on to smallpox vaccines, viral ion channels, and cell adhesion, while a postdoc at Imperial College London. I joined open access publisher BioMed Central in 2011 as an Acquisitions Editor and then Associate Publisher, and was responsible for launching new journals, including Microbiome, Zoological Letters, and Movement Ecology. I have been Head of Communities & Engagement at Springer Nature since 2016, running our online community blogs, and a Consulting Editor at Nature Medicine since June 2020, handling COVID-19 papers. PhD candidate at Washington State University. Actively looking for a full-time position., Washington State University

Working in a biofilm research lab. My PhD research focuses on developing an electrochemical scaffold (e-scaffold) as an alternate antibiotic-free wound dressing. Developed an e-scaffold capable of electrochemically generating localized low level of H2O2 that can eliminate biofilms (~4-log) without damaging mammalian tissue. Ongoing research include testing e-scaffold efficacy against other nosocomial pathogenic biofilms and enhance killing efficacy in combination with other biofilm inhibitors. I am further interested in understanding the immune and stress responses in biofilms, as well as developing the material for e-scaffold to obtain better conductivity and surface properties with enhanced anti-biofilm characteristics. I have a Masters and Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology.

I am a biologist by the FES-UNAM Iztacala, I realize the Master of Science in animal production and health FMVZ-UNAM, study PhD in biomedical sciences.   I want to address the study of bacterial biofilms, considering that the development of this field of research should culminate to find and get a muti species biofilm model in vivo
